Did you know that Foie Gras was invented in 1780 in Strasbourg ? It was Jean Pierre Clause, the cook of the Marshall of Contades, Governor of Alsace who first established this famous recipe.

Very impressed with the new dish served to him, the Governor send a sample to Paris to be tasted by the King. The King loved it and soon the whole country was buzzing with the name of this new and delicate dish.
